Most people think their funnel isn't working because of their ads or their traffic. It's usually because the funnel itself is missing pieces. This checklist shows you exactly what a self-funding front-end funnel needs and which parts yours currently has.
*NOTE: Not every business is the same, if what you're doing right now is working, great. Use this list as a template to see what else you could do to make things even better.
Go through each section. Be honest. Every unchecked box is a gap that's either costing you money or preventing you from running paid traffic profitably.
Your Entry Point
Your front-end offer is a paid product, not a free opt-in
The offer solves one specific problem and delivers a result fast
The price is low enough that the decision is easy for cold traffic ($7 to $47)
The offer is validated, meaning real people have already paid for it
Your Value Stack
You have an order bump that complements the front-end offer
Your order bump is priced between 50% and 200% of the front-end price
You have at least one upsell after the order bump
Your average order value, when you account for bump and upsell take rates, covers your cost per acquisition
Your Sales Page
Your page speaks directly to a problem your ideal buyer is actively trying to solve right now
The page establishes why your approach works when other things haven't
You have proof from people who were in the same specific situation as your ideal buyer
There is one clear call to action and no competing options on the page
Your Post-Purchase Experience
Your thank-you page introduces a logical next step immediately after purchase
You have an automated email sequence that fires after the first purchase
That sequence delivers value from the product and moves toward your next offer
Buyers are tagged separately from non-buyers in your email platform
Your Back-End Bridge
You have a clear higher-ticket offer for front-end buyers to step into
That offer is introduced within the first seven days after the front-end purchase
The path from front-end buyer to back-end client is mapped out, not accidental
You track how many front-end buyers become back-end clients
Your Numbers
You know your current average order value
You know your cost per acquisition
Your AOV is equal to or greater than your CPA
You have a target ROAS and a minimum acceptable ROAS before you cut a campaign
What Your Results Tell You
Count how many boxes you checked.
20 or more: Your funnel has a solid foundation. Your focus should be on traffic volume and back-end monetization.
12 to 19: You have the basics but meaningful gaps. The unchecked boxes in the value stack and post-purchase sections are the most likely reason paid traffic isn't profitable yet.
Fewer than 12: The funnel structure isn't ready for paid traffic. Running ads into this will cost you money without giving you useful data. Build the missing pieces first.
The most common pattern is a front-end offer with no real value stack and no post-purchase sequence. That combination means every buyer you acquire costs more than they're worth on day one, and you're leaving most of the back-end revenue on the table.
Get Paid to Get Leads walks through how to build every piece on this checklist, in the right order, so the whole system works together before you spend a dollar on ads.
